Service Your Gas Grill Burner

Thursday, December 28th, 2006

Nothing is more irritating than a section of your burner not working when you go to grill.

Well – not having any gas in the cannister maybe ranks a little higher in the irritation ladder. :-)

But if your burner is not fully lighting, you are not going to be able to cook a good steak or burger. Too many hot spots and cold spots.

Sometimes you need to replace the burner but many times a simple cleaning is all that is needed. Clean it and then use a toothpick or something that size (thin but heavy wire is nice) and poke thru each hole in the burner. Take a little time here – it will be worth it.

Yep – I just went thru that and that’s why I decided to drop a post.

Hope you’re having a great holiday week!

Grilling in the Winter

Friday, December 15th, 2006

Oh yeah. I don’t let old man winter stop me from grilling. No way.

When you have a gas grill, why would you only grill in the summer and spring? I have mine sitting on my deck right outside my door. When we get a snow storm, I make it a point to go outside and grill. It’s a blast.

Now be sute the grill is set up in such a way that the wind is not interfering and blowing out the flame. That not only gets a little irritating, it can make your meat a lot less juicy.

Bummer!

But I’m telling you. Barbecue in the winter months – you don’t know what you’re missing if you don’t.
