Hot Dogs on the Grill

If I’m going to eat a hot dog – grilling it is the only way to go, as far as I’m concerned. I use Ballpark hotdogs because I love the way they plump up.

Don’t use high heat! You’ll burn the outside before the hot dogs get cooked. Use a lower heat and turn often. I like to make certain every part of the hot dog gets barbecued.

The – once that dog has opened up – I take a sliver of Velvetta cheese and slide it into the open area of the hot dog and let it melt. Absolutely delicious!

Here’s a bonus. My grandson is three years old – he helps me grill the dogs. The fir is not high and there is no grease flareups like you get with burgers and other meats. He loves it and gets a real sense of accomplishment. And it’s just one more thing he and I do together.

About Bob Blick

Although I currently have over a dozen websites online, I started up realmencooking.com to share my passion and knowledge for barbecuing. I want this to be a fun and informative site and plan to write basically the way I talk.
